HISD honors Hippos of the Month

Principals presented awards Thursday during the regular meeting of the Hutto ISD School Board to students they selected as Hippos of the Month for outstanding achievement.

Hutto Principal Manny Lunoff also presented awards to Hutto High School students for outstanding scores on Advanced Placement tests.

Andrew King and Jake Lyons were recognized as AP Scholars for scoring a 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. Joshua Muehlbrad and Eric Trandai were recognized as AP Scholars with Honors for averaging a 3.25 or higher on all AP exams and receiving a grade of 3 or higher on four AP tests. Trandai has also been recognized as a Commended Scholar from the National Merit Scholar Program.

The following are student Hippos of the Month for their respective campuses:

Hutto Elementary: Shyanne Pearson and Isaiah Perez.

Nadine Johnson Elementary: Alexandria Gallegos and Chance Martin.

Cottonwood Creek Elementary: Trysta Freeze and Freddy Fuentes.

Ray Elementary: Stephanie Greer and Deshawn Luckett.

Veterans’ Hill Elementary: Brianna Lundin and Jeremy Santikham.

Hutto Middle School: Efren Bermudez and Maria Botello.

Farley Middle School: Clayton Birch and Hannah Cervenka.

Hutto High School: Amanda Bednarz and Trevor Hayes.

River Horse Academy: Shawn Kuroda.

Superintendent’s Hippo of the Month: Amanda Bednarz.
